Seasonal Lakes of Slovenia:
Join one of my unique one day photography workshop in the Slovenian karst region of the west are a number of seasonal lakes, the most famous being Lake Cerknica, but there are also the lesser known Pivka Lakes. When these lakes fill up, normally in December (but sometimes it’s earlier), they make superb photographic locations for landscapes and reflections.
Palcje Lake is a hidden secret. Lying in a small basin this is a lovely, tranquil location surrounded by gorgeous karst hills. In late autumn, early spring the colours provide ideal conditions for stunning backdrops.
Cerknica is the most famous of these seasonal lakes and offers some stunning sunrise and sunset opportunities.
An early morning (pre dawn) or late evening one day workshop is available, subject to conditions, at one of these lakes:. The location will be decided closer to the date, as the conditions vary according to the weather. Naturally being seasonal lakes they are very much dependent on the rain, so be aware that your workshop may be cancelled or re-scheduled if all the lakes are empty due to lack of rain.
You can also swap to a different workshop location should there be no water in the lakes.
